Got Fired for believing in PLF
Mood:  irritated
Well i just wanted to share that it finally happened....i got fired from my job (Sonic for those that dont know). It started a while back when my boss yelled at me for not putting the veggies on the burgers (i didnt have it my heart), needless to say ive been given multiple warnings about that, so that day finally came where I just could not take it anymore, knowing the pain and turture that the Plants had gone through to get on that burger that someone is then going to EAT!!! Thats what happens when your dealing with people who dont have a passion about something as imporant as PLF. I just wanted to say thankyou to each and every memember for making me realize that there is so much more than this...Let me know when the next Protest or festival is you know i'll be there...i always am.

Latas,
Howie

Petiton coming...
Mood:  sharp
Well everyone the plan still looks like a go for the petetion signing. Still in the works on trying to figure out on the when and where, but it will be happening in the near future. It will be nice to get out again and take action and voice our feelings and to get others to sign. I will let everyone know when its a go...hope to see all your faces out there:)
Take care,
Sophie

What the Hell Are You Doing?
Mood:  sad
Topic: rants
Jack
How many time have I told you that we are NOT a direct action group. We support all NON-VIOLENT means to convey our message and to affect change. I am absolutely appalled that you have gone to this extent, dispite my urging you to channel your considerable energy into productive and NON-Violent directions. We have valued your energy in the past, in spite of your combustible temperament. However you have stepped over a line we cannot tolerate. As we discussed our efforts to become a socially acceptable group, passionately committed to environmental change and botanical protection can be ruined by your overzealous efforts. You've left us with no choice but to remove you from our active membership, effective immediately. Put your energies toward safe and legal progress for plant justice.

Mission Accomplished
Mood:  celebratory
Steph:
Just wanted to let you know that yesterday's operation in Oakland went off without a hitch. We were able to completely destroy the salad bar without causing serious injury to any of the patrons. An elderly couple was at the bar at the moment of detonation, but they only suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns. I told the guys that you were proud of them. Is the July action still on? I need to know as soon as possible in order to procure the stuff needed.
Thanks,
Jack

2007 Rose Bowl Parade! We Are In!
Mood:  celebratory
Topic: Welcome
I wanted to let everyone know, that I have not already contacted, that the PLF has been accepted to be in the 2007 Tournament of Roses parade on January 1, 2007!! Our float will proudly carry forth the 2007 parade theme of "Our Good Nature"! For those that haven't heard our float will of course have no harvested flowers or any other ravaged botanical product. Instead our float will proudly feature realistic leather and plastic renditions of various North American botanical species, including the Bristlecone Pine and the Coastal Redwood. So float committee folks...lots of work to do, but we're IN!!!!!!

what about fish?
Mood:  quizzical
if animals don't feel pain, then what about fish. i read in some magazine that fish don't feel pain as well as bears, deer when they get shot. plants feel the pain because they are cut alive and have to live the rest of their lives deformed.

Animals Feel Pain Too
Mood:  irritated
OK, not to be disrespectful but some of you guys/girls are crazy! I used to be PLF when I thought sane people belonged. I joined because I think that mankind’s over reliance on domesticated plants and animals damages the environment and is morally wrong. It is one thing to cultivate (not domesticate) a few Plants for the survival of your family and to hunt Animals for the purposes of food, but today we are manipulating the DNA of plants and doping up animals for the slaughter, mass producing mutated and unhealthy freaks of nature for our consumption! I quit when the slant of the PLF became that Plants are holy and damn the Animals! Why do we need to exclude one group of the exploited to help another? Animals feel pain too!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted sooner. I hadn’t checked my email in a while cuz I’ve been so busy so I didn’t know the website was up yet. Thanx Lyn! I’ll definitely be checking it out everyday. I’m so excited! OK, so for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Ginny from Sunset Valley, TX. Hello to all the other TXans I saw have posted already! Anyway, I’ve been a PLF member forever (20years)! My mom has been one for longer so that’s how I got into it. I just want to ask everyone how they became involved in the PLF. Tell your stories peeps ;)

Gilroy Garlic Festival Protest
Mood:  energetic
Topic: questions
My fellow plant brothers. The time has once again come upon us to protest the Gilroy Garlic Festival. I need to know how many of us will be atending. The last couple of years has seen an increase in turn out of people to help support our cause. This year we will need an even greater number of willing participants who believe in our cause. I will have further details in the uncoming week.
