what about fish?
Mood:  quizzical
if animals don't feel pain, then what about fish. i read in some magazine that fish don't feel pain as well as bears, deer when they get shot. plants feel the pain because they are cut alive and have to live the rest of their lives deformed.

Animals Feel Pain Too
Mood:  irritated
OK, not to be disrespectful but some of you guys/girls are crazy! I used to be PLF when I thought sane people belonged. I joined because I think that mankind’s over reliance on domesticated plants and animals damages the environment and is morally wrong. It is one thing to cultivate (not domesticate) a few Plants for the survival of your family and to hunt Animals for the purposes of food, but today we are manipulating the DNA of plants and doping up animals for the slaughter, mass producing mutated and unhealthy freaks of nature for our consumption! I quit when the slant of the PLF became that Plants are holy and damn the Animals! Why do we need to exclude one group of the exploited to help another? Animals feel pain too!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t posted sooner. I hadn’t checked my email in a while cuz I’ve been so busy so I didn’t know the website was up yet. Thanx Lyn! I’ll definitely be checking it out everyday. I’m so excited! OK, so for those of you who don’t know me, I’m Ginny from Sunset Valley, TX. Hello to all the other TXans I saw have posted already! Anyway, I’ve been a PLF member forever (20years)! My mom has been one for longer so that’s how I got into it. I just want to ask everyone how they became involved in the PLF. Tell your stories peeps ;)

Gilroy Garlic Festival Protest
Mood:  energetic
Topic: questions
My fellow plant brothers. The time has once again come upon us to protest the Gilroy Garlic Festival. I need to know how many of us will be atending. The last couple of years has seen an increase in turn out of people to help support our cause. This year we will need an even greater number of willing participants who believe in our cause. I will have further details in the uncoming week.

Jagdish!
Mood:  chatty
Topic: Jagdish Bose
just recently had a great talk with my friends at the Botanical Society of Otago. i was the topic selector for the monthly discussion group and i chose Jagdish Bose. the group was mostly unaware of his pioneering work on plant reactions to painful stimuli and it was great to talk to like minded enthusiasts about his great work.

Message from the "CEO"
Mood:  bright
Topic: Welcome
very clever Alex, listing me as the CEO and all. as if we have a chief executive officer! but i did "agree" to be el presidente for a year, so here we go. larry is really angry with for agreeing to take on the title, after lots of yelling it seems he's afraid people he knows will find out and think i'm over the edge on this....whatever. anyway you can all refer to me as the ceo, but i'll think of it as the chief environmental officer. great work fred on kickstarting our rose bowl parade float project, can't wait to hear from the parade people.

Now Playing: Man am I Pissed?
Topic: Plants are alive
I saw something today that really made me mad and pissed me off! I was out for a desert hike early this morning before the desert heat got going here in Moab and you all won't believe what I saw. Freaking motorcycle tracks, absolutely tearing up the cryptobiotic soil! It takes the desert environ hundreds of years to regenerate what it takes a brain dead humanoid seconds to destroy! Frederick, I'm all for tying these fools to your rose bowl parade float and dragging them along at 2 miles per hour until they see the light.

Stirring up trouble as usual
Mood:  mischievious
Those corn huskers are sure not happy with me. I sent my pitbulls out after those darn famers to keep them from picking the corn. And yes we still have farmers picking the corn. With a population of 63 we are not quite in the postition to afford all those fancy farm tools, so by hand it is. They were all able to get away without so much as a scratch, but next time they might not be too lucky.

Plant Rights Lawyer
Mood:  sharp
I have narrowed down my field of study in my environmental pre-law program to plants right lawyer. I feel that as a strict carnivore i abhor the thoughts of killing helpless plants of all types for completely unnecessary means. I am in the process of trying to establish a plants right group at my university. I will keep you all updated as to how that is going.

Rose Bowl Float
Applesavior, great to see you back for some more PLF action. As you might have known i have a fashion degree and am currently working on a all leather line of clothes. I would love to help you out with the fashion and designing of the float for the rose bowl parade (thats if they consider our float). It is such a wonderful idea to get our message out there for everyone to see how serious we take the PLF and how imporant protecting the plants are.

ps Love what has been done to the website (im so happy that is back up and running)!!!!

As a maple conglomerate, I abhor this organization. The plant is the most valuable resource on this earth. Without plants there maple syrup! Take that plant lovers need time you can eat your pancakes pain!

The children are learning so much
Mood:  happy
I love teaching to my children about the wonders of plants and their friends. I give all my english lessons a little added encouragement and wisdom talking about a different plant a week. This weeks plant is the le pomme de terre (the potato)
